Here is somebody’s labour of love!
Whilst it looks a little worse for wear, this is one of a pair of massive 1930’s V12 Rolls-Royce engines that our Guildford service centre were asked to get safely to a collector in Germany.
Unfortunately for the team; engine builders hadn’t discovered the fuel saving benefits of aluminium in those days and V12 power houses like this were made of solid steel so, whilst they are almost in-destructable, they are massively heavy! The pair of engine blocks tip the scale at over 500kg!
As they are extremely rare these days, these power units also needed real care and attention to ensure that they arrived safely – especially as they are worth around £7500!
As specialists in shipping things that are fragile, large, awkward and valuable, our service centres know how to handle serious loads like this and custom pallets and padded shrink wrap were employed to ensure secure delivery.
If you need to move a car one piece at a time – just contact your local PACK & SEND branch – they can get anything, anywhere!
